Answer

To factory default the Stratix switch using the express setup button perform the following steps:

Firmware Lower than 15.2(4)EA3

Note: These steps apply to the Stratix 5400, Stratix 5410, Stratix 5700, and ArmorStratix 5700. They do not apply to the Stratix 2500.

  1. Ensure the switch is fully powered up.
  2. Press and hold the Express Setup button for 10 seconds until the EIP Mod status indicator turns red, and then immediately release the Express Setup button.
  3. The switch will reboot and return to factory default settings.

Firmware 15.2(4)EA3 and Higher

Note: These steps apply to the Stratix 5400, Stratix 5410, Stratix 5700, ArmorStratix 5700 and Stratix 2500. The Stratix 2500 will not have a Software Version; however, it will have a CIP Revision of 1.001 or higher.

  1. Ensure that the switch is fully powered up.
  2. Press and hold the Express Setup button for 16 to 20 seconds until the Setup status indicator flashes green and red (green and amber for Stratix 5410 models).

    Note: The Stratix 5410 Setup LED is amber (not red). Requests have been submitted to update the user manual to reflect this information.

  3. Release the Express Setup button when the Setup indicator flashes green and red (green and amber for Stratix 5410 models).

    Note: If you release the Express Setup button before or after the Setup status indicator is flashing green and red (green and amber for Stratix 5410 models), the switch will not return to factory default.

  4. The switch will reboot and return to factory default settings.

From the Device Manager

To factory default the Stratix switch using the Device Manager web interface perform the following steps.

Note: These steps apply to the Stratix 5400, Stratix 5410, Stratix 5700, ArmorStratix 5700 and Stratix 2500.

  1. From the menu, go to Admin --> Restart/Reset.
  2. On the Restart/Reset tab, check the radio button next to Reset the switch to factory defaults, and then restart the switch, then click Submit.

    Note: This option resets the switch, deletes the current configuration settings, returns to the factory default settings, and then restarts the switch.
