The HOG800 series consists of compact, field-configurable HeavyDuty encoders and encoder combinations with IP66 protection and shaft insulation of 3.5 kV

Technological highlights

Easy visualization of parameterization and monitoring

Protection against overvoltage and reverse polarity

Protection of the bearing raceways and electronics due to shaft insulation up to 3.5 kV. Additional conduction of shaft voltages above 3.5 kV.
Unique voltage protection up to 60 VDC for voltage supply and 24 VDC for signal lines. Increased shielding against wired interference (EMC) with extended protective electronics.

Longlife bearing setup

Extremely high load capacities, special lubricants and an excellent sealing system ensures the cleanliness of the lubrication.

Compact size and variable torque arm fixation

Long-term stable sealing system and sealed field termination

Multi-stage combination of sealings permanently protects bearings, bearing grease, electronics and termination from dust and moisture over a wide temperature range and for decades.
Additional housing protects the measuring core from contamination during installation and wiring. Wires are protected from contact with rotating parts.

User-friendly field termination

Pluggable terminal boxes for electrical and mechanical assembly at the same time. When the encoder has to be replaced the terminal box can remain.
Pluggable push-in terminals for best contact security, easy access and tool-free handling.
Cable clamps guide the wires and prevent clamping between housing parts.

Applications

Wind energy generators

Durable, economical variants are available for synchronous generators with gearboxes, which can be supplemented on a project-specific basis with options such as an extended protective circuit or redundancies.

Overhead cranes

Thanks to the high precision of the incremental signals and low latency times of the switches, even at low speeds, our encoders make a decisive contribution to the reliable handling of loads, e.g. for soft start, synchronization control or brake control.

Cold rolling mills

With corrosion-resistant materials and high-performance seals, our encoders are resistant to typical chemical contamination during pickling and provide precise encoder signals over long distances when adjusting the material thickness and synchronizing the rollers throughout the plant.

Asynchronous motors

With their compact design, HeavyDuty encoders can also be used in medium-sized motors. Redundant variants and safety-related parameters are available for functionally safe evaluations. Maintenance costs can be reduced with the integrated recording of running performance.
